Event Description:
In Jesus, Jay-Z, and James Baldwin, we examine language as a sacred tool for resistance and liberation. Through sermons, rap lyrics, Baldwin’s prose, and film, this course reveals how these figures use wit and wordplay to challenge systems of oppression. Participants will explore language’s power to subvert empire, build community, and inspire transformation.
Dates: June 16 – August 25, 2025
